I just spent a week at the incredible Coco Beach Resort on Ambergris Caye in Belize. The resort is located just outside the main town San Pedro right on the beach. While many might think of this at pure romance, it is also a great place for a girlfriend’s getaway – and that is exactly why we were there.
Luxury Suites
The accommodations are more than just a hotel room. They offer luxury suites and we were in a two-bedroom ocean front suite complete with a kitchen. What more could you ask for when traveling with a group? Two bedroom, two bath. Can I stay forever?
Fun for All Ages
From a swim up bar to a giant waterslide built into a beautiful grotto, there were countless things to keep us entertained. They also have complimentary kayaks and paddle boards for rent. To be completely honest, we spent a lot of time at the swim up bar where we drank mojitos and snacked of things like ceviche and blackened fish sandwiches.
Just Outside of Town
While the resort is located 3.5 miles outside of San Pedro – where all the action is – it wasn’t too bad of a trek getting into town. Luckily, the resort has a golf cart rental on site. Golf carts are the primary mode of transport around Ambergris Caye other than boat. Be sure to rent a golf cart. You will use it and it’s so fun to cruise around in. You can also get around by bike but it is quite a ride into town so if you are going all the way to town, use the golf cart.
Final Thoughts
While I always prefer to be closer to the action, I really couldn’t find any other resorts as nice as Coco Beach. If you are a luxury traveler, this is where you want to stay when visiting Ambergris Caye!
