Checking In: Hacienda Beach Club & Residences

A luxury oasis with views of Land's End in the heart of Los Cabos on Medano Beach. My go-to hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

I’ve been traveling to Cabo San Lucas for years, before the days of giant shopping malls and floods of tourists. I’ve stayed in both hotels and private residences. I found that the hotels closer to downtown were overcrowded, party-oriented and lacking in a luxury feel. The further away you traveled from downtown the more luxurious the hotels became and more relaxed. My only complaint was that I’m the type of traveler who likes to be in the heart of it all. Location, location, location. I can say with confidence that I’ve found the hotel that combines all these essentials into one. Luxury and sophistication mixed with convenience and location. This is what you get at The Hacienda Beach Club & Residences.

Overview

Set right on Medano Beach, Hacienda Beach Club has unobstructed Sea of Cortez views from nearly everywhere, and the charming town is just a quick drive away. The resort is ideally located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. With its own private stretch of beach, Hacienda is by far the best place to stay in Los Cabos. Within walking distance to everything, the beachfront resort redefines beachfront living. The rooms are not rooms but rather elegantly designed residences with hardwood floors, marble counters, stone finishes and more.

What to Know

Rooms: There are one, two, and three bedroom residences. There is also a slightly larger three bedroom residence that comes with a den. The largest available accommodations are the villas located along the beach.

The rooms come with a fully equipped kitchen, private balcony, bathrobes, cable TV, DVD player, complimentary bottled water, hair dryer, in-room safe, jetted bathtub, rollaway beds upon request.

Insider Tip

Request a room close to the main lobby and pool.  I stayed in building one which is close to the main entrance and it is quite a hike to the pool, which is where most of your time will be spent!

In addition to two outdoor swimming pools, 4 spa tubs, and a children’s pool, the hotel also has a private beach. Relax in the infinity pools while gazing out to the famous Land’s End.

Location

What’s Around

Being in the heart of downtown Cabo on Medano Beach, the resort is located just steps from all of my favorite places including The Office, Edith’s, and Bar Esquina. Within walking distance to the marina, Hacienda Beach Club has the best location in all of Cabo.

  • Marina Cabo San Lucas – 0.4 miles
  • Puerto Paraiso Shopping Mall – 0.4 miles
  • Cabo Wabo Cantina – 0.7 miles
  • The Office on the Beach – 0.7 miles
  • El Squid Roe – 0.7 miles
  • Land’s End – 1.6 miles
  • Santa Maria Beach – 11 miles
  • Cabo del Sol Ocean Golf Course – 7 miles
  • San Jose del Cabo – 19 miles
  • Todos Santos Baja Art Festival – 49 miles
  • Cabo Pulmo – 60 miles
  • La Paz – 100 miles

Getting Here

  • By Plane: Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is 26 miles from the resort. Many major international airlines offer direct routes from most major US cities. There are plenty of taxis, along with a shuttle into town.
  • By Car: You’ll want to hire a car to properly explore Los Cabos, though do be aware that roads can be hard to navigate and drivers quite aggressive. Taxis are also readily available, if a bit pricey.
