Eating My Way through Seville

One of the best things about Seville is the food. In all the cities that I visited while roaming around Spain, I thought Seville had some of the best food. These are my absolute must-go eateries when visiting Seville.

La Brunilda Tapas

Galera 5 (El Arenal), 41001 Seville, Spain | +34 954 22 04 81 | facebook.com/LaBrunilda

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in all of Spain. It has a great ambiance, good crowd (albeit very busy so do expect to wait for a table) and the food is sensational. Definitely get the octopus and the risotto but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Catalina Casa de Comidas

Plaza Padre Jeronimo de Cordoba 12, 41003 Seville | +34 954 56 36 87 | catalinacasadecomidas.com

This was recommended by my hotel Palacio de Villapanés and they were spot on. While roaming around Spain, I had developed an obsession for boletus (mushroom) croquettes and this place has the best ones I’ve ever had! I also got my greens fix with a fresh green salad all of which was enjoyed while sitting on the outside patio and soaking up the sun. Go here, you won’t be disappointed!

Confitería Los Ángeles

Calle Adriano, 2, 41001 Seville | +34 954 22 81 46 | confiterialosangeles.com

Come here when you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. They have these giant chocolate sandwich kind of things called “alpargatas de holjaldre con chocolate” and they are incredible! Don’t expect good service though and I wouldn’t recommend this as a sit-down sort of place. Just grab your pastry and go.

El Rinconcillo

Gerona 42, 41003 Seville | +34 954 223 183 | elrinconcillo.es

I certainly couldn’t leave this place off the list. As one of the oldest restaurants in Seville, this place is a unfortunately a tourist mecca but is worth a visit. Known for great tapas such as spinach with chickpeas and tortilla de jamón. Stand at the bar where they actually write your bill on the bar with chalk. Love it!

Bar Alfalfa

Calle Candilejo, 1, 41004 Seville | +34 954 22 23 44

It is by no means a restaurant, but I had to put it on this list because it was insanely good. This little corner bar is a great place to stop in for some drinks and bar snacks.  It has a few tables, some seats scattered around the bar, and then a few more outside. Try the goat cheese salsa verde. It is so yummy.
